Brooks named SAC Player of the Week
Senior Ja'Shawn Brooks has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Player of the Week, as announced by the league Monday morning.
ROCK HILL, S.C. (TheSAC.com) – Mars Hill guard Ja'Shawn Brooks has been named the South Atlantic Conference AstroTurf Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played during week four of the 2019-20 season, the Conference announced today.
Brooks, a senior from Augusta, Ga., led the Lions to a 2-0 SAC record last week with wins over UVa-Wise and Newberry. He scored 26 points with two rebounds, three assists and three steals in the Lions' 92-87 win over UVa-Wise. He then poured in 19 points, shooting 85.7 percent from the field with a pair of rebounds and two steals in the 80-70 win over Newberry. For the week, Brooks shot 68.2 percent from the field, hitting 50 percent of his shots from long range, while averaging 22.5 points, two rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game.
This is Brooks' first player of the week selection this season.
