Lions in Ninth Place at Tusculum Spring Invite
GREENEVILLE, TENN.-- The Mars Hill men's golf team is in ninth place after the first round of the Tusculum College Spring Invitational, which was held Saturday at Link Hills Country Club.
The Lions carded a score of 295. Chase Dembisky paced Mars Hill with a one-under 70, shooting a 33 on the back nine. Lincoln Memorial leads overall with a score of 282. Gavin Hay of Carson-Newman sits atop the individual leaderboard with a four-under 67.
Tyler Grooms shot a three-over 74 for Mars Hill, including a 35 on the back nine. Lucas Harper, Seth Sayler and Charles Hartzog rounded out the Lions' top five.
The Tusculum College Spring Invitational concludes with round two tomorrow. The Lions will have an opportunity to move significantly up the standings, as only five strokes separate MHC from third place.
