Lions Tied for Fifth at Cherokee Valley Invite
TIGERVILLE, S.C.-- The Mars Hill men's golf team is tied for fifth place after round one of the Cherokee Valley Invitational, which was held Monday.
The Lions carded a 36-over 324 in cold and windy conditions. Chase Dembisky turned in Mars Hill's best score with a five-over 77 to finish tied for fifth. North Greenville is in first place after shooting a 14-over 314. Just 12 strokes separate the top seven teams. Danny Dippel of North Greenville lead all golfers in shooting an even-par 72.
Nick Caruson added a seven-over 79 for Mars Hill. Tyler Grooms, Lucas Harper and Ken Dixon rounded out the Lions' top five.
The Cherokee Valley Invitational concludes tomorrow with round two.
