Lions to Compete in SAC Championship
MARS HILL, N.C.-The Mars Hill men's golf team will compete in the South Atlantic Championship, which begins with qualifying rounds Saturday in Sevierville, Tenn.
The Lions enter the tournament having placed in the top 10 of six tournaments between the fall and spring seasons. The SAC Championship Tournament will be held at the Sevierville Golf Club. The three-round men's tournament will be contested on the River Course. The first round will be held Sunday, with tee times beginning at 8:30 a.m. The tournament concludes Tuesday.

Mars Hill's top performances this season came in a fourth-place finish in the Echo Farms Intercollegiate. Tyler Grooms was the Lions' top performer in the tournament.
Chase Dembisky enters the SAC Tournament playing his best golf of the year. The freshman has a third-place and fifth-place finish in his last two outings. Dembisky has carded the Lions' best score four times this season.
Grooms and Seth Sayler each have carded MHC's best score once this season. Nick Caruso and Charles Hartzog tied for the team lead in one tournament. Caruso finished first individually in the Montreat Invitational, though the Lions did not compete as a team.
Other notable performances for MHC this season included a
fifth-place finish in the Cherokee Valley Invitational and an
eighth-place finish in the Roanoke Invitational.
