Lions' Men's Golf Finishes Second at King Invitational
The Lions’ men’s golf team finished in second place in the King University Invitational Tuesday afternoon shooting a two-day total of 573 at the Country Club of Bristol. Adam Lumley won the event shooting a two-round score of 136.
BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Lions' men's golf team finished in second place in the King University Invitational Tuesday afternoon shooting a two-day total of 573 at the Country Club of Bristol. Adam Lumley won the event shooting a two-round score of 136.
Lumley shot a 66 on Sunday on the 71-par course and a 70 on Tuesday, six strokes under par. In the final round, Lumley sank a 25-foot birdie on the eighteenth hole to seal the win.
Juan Santos followed with a two-round score of 138 (67+71). James Holley recorded a 150, Cole Sweazey shot 154 and Chase Dembiskey shot 159 in the event. The Lions shot a 280 in the first round and a 293 in the final round. Erskine College won the event shooting a 567, six shots better than the Lions. The Flying Fleet shot a 281 in the final day to obtain the team victory.
Mars Hill will compete in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate at Sunset Beach at Sea Trails Golf Club on October 6-8.
