ETOWAH, N.C.- Reigning South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year Adam Lumley shot a two-over-par 73 to lead Mars Hill in the opening round of the Etowah Intercollegiate at Etowah Valley Country Club in Hendersonville. The Etowah Intercollegiate is the season-opening event for the Lions.
Lumley sits in a four-way tie for sixth place after his round. Charles Hartzog is in a 12th place tie after an opening round 75, while freshman Antonio Douat posted a 77 in his first college round for a 20th place spot. Other Lion participants are Nick Caruso with an 80 and Nick Quesnel with an 88.
North Greenville's Chase Fisher shot a two-under-par 69 for the clubhouse lead after the first day. The Crusaders lead the tournament with a team score of 290. Tournament host Brevard is in second with a 299.
