Rain Claims Final Round of State Farm Intercollegiate
Heavy rain and wind has cancelled the final round of the 2014 State Farm Intercollegiate.
TAZEWELL, TENN. - Heavy rain and wind has cancelled the final round of the 2014 State Farm Intercollegiate, held at the par-72, 6,771-yard Woodlake Country Club. The tournament has been shortened to 36-holes with Mars Hill earning a seventh place finish following Monday's results.
Nick Caruso led the Lions with a tie for 23rd place after recording consecutive rounds of two-over-par 74. Chevy Hartzog finished with a 74 and 75 for a 33rd place tie. Adam Lumley shot a pair of 75's for a 36th place tie. Antonio Douat finished with a combined score of 152 after firing a 76 in both rounds. Nick Quesnel finished with a 158 after shooting a 79 in the first and second round.
Lincoln Memorial's Braden Galyon was the medalist with 134. Galyon set a course record with an eight-under-par 64 in the opening round. The Railsplitters won the tournament by four strokes over Carson-Newman.
Mars Hill will conclude the fall portion of their schedule next week at the Walters State Fall Classic in Morristown, Tenn.
