Lions in Seventh After Opening Round of SAC Championship
Mars Hill is in seventh; Chevy Hartzog tied for seventh place after 18 holes
MARVIN, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's golf team is in seventh place after the opening round of the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Championship held at the par-72, 6,904-yard Firethorn Country Club. The Lions finished with a team score of 310, just five shots out of fourth place
Chevy Hartzog shot a three-over-par 75 to lead the Lions and is tied for seventh place. Antonio Douat fired a four-over-par 76 and is tied for 14th. Adam Lumley shot an opening round 79, followed by Levi Grogan with an 80 and Filip Andersson with an 81.
Tusculum College sits atop the team leaderboard with a 295, six strokes ahead of Wingate. Nick Forsberg of Tusculum is the individual leader with a two-under-par 70.
The tournament will resume tomorrow beginning at 8:30 a.m.
