Men's Golf Ties For Sixth at SAC Championship
Mars Hill ties for sixth; Douat and Hartzog tie for 14th
MARVIN, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's golf team finished in a tie for sixth place at the 2015 South Atlantic Conference Championship held at the par-72, 6,904-yard Firethorn Country Club. The Lions finished with a team score of 617.
Antonio Douat and Chevy Hartzog finished in a tie for 14th as each finished with a 36-hole score of 153. Douat fired a 77 in the second round while Hartzog recorded a 78. Adam Lumley led the Lions with a three-over-par 75 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 22nd place with a 154. Levi Grogan finished with a second round 77 and a combined score of 157 for a 33rd place tie while Filip Andersson shot an 83 in the second round and a combined score of 164, finishing in a tie for 49th.
Tusculum's Nick Forsberg was the individual winner with a one-under-par 143. The Pioneers were the tournament champions with a team score of 597, besting second place Wingate by two strokes.
The tournament was shortened from 54 to 36 holes after rain washed out Sunday's opening round.
