Lumley Leads Men's Golf to Second Place Finish

MURRELLS INLET, S.C. –The Mars Hill men's golf team used a stellar final round to finish second overall in the Bash at the Beach Intercollegiate on Saturday, March 05.
Adam Lumley's final round 72 paced the Lions as they rallied to a second place finish after sitting in fifth place overall following day one. Lumley's two day total of 147 was good enough for a second place finish as an individual.
Alejandro Canizares followed a first-round 76 with the same score in round two for a tournament total of 152 and a tie for 8th overall. Chevy Hartzog picked up one stroke from his day one 77 and finished in 12th place for the Lions.
Filip Anderson was able to bounce back from a score of 90 on day one, trimming 11 strokes off his round, finishing in 53rd overall.
As a whole Mars Hill was able to cut its score by seven, shooting a day two of 303 for a two-day total of 613, falling only seven strokes behind first-place Queens University.
The Lions will return to the links on Sunday, March 13 as they head to Monroe, N.C. to take part in the Ralph Hargett Memorial. The tournament will carry over into Monday.
