Men Sit In Eighth After Opening Round of Anderson Invitational
ANDERSON, S.C. – Senior Adam Lumley shot an even-par 72 to pace the Mars Hill men’s golf team on day one of the Anderson University Invitational on Monday, September 12 at the Cobb’s Glen Country Club.
ANDERSON, S.C. – Senior Adam Lumley shot an even-par 72 to pace the Mars Hill men's golf team on day one of the Anderson University Invitational on Monday, September 12 at the Cobb's Glen Country Club. Lumley currently sits in second place overall, after recording three birdies and 12 pars, while the team is in eighth.
Stephen Thomasson completed his first 18 with a round score of 80, good enough for a tie for 29th in the standings. Harry Butler and Luke Challis both fired 81s on the afternoon and find themselves in a tie for 34th. Levi Neeson rounded out the Lions golfers with an 85 (+13), finishing the evening in a tie for 43rd.
As a team the Lions shot a combined 314 (+26). Fellow SAC member Catawba opened the tournament with a 295 (+7), comfortably sitting in first overall with a seven stroke lead on second-place Bob Jones University.
The Lions will try and make a push for the top of the leaderboard as the second and final round will get underway tomorrow morning.
