Lions In Sixth After First Day of Tusculum Fall Classic
GREENEVILLE, TENN. – Playing in its third tournament of the year, the Mars Hill men’s golf team finished the first day of the Tusculum Fall Classic with a seven-over 291 on Monday, September 26.
GREENEVILLE, TENN. – Playing in its third tournament of the year, the Mars Hill men's golf team finished the first day of the Tusculum Fall Classic with a seven-over 291 on Monday, September 26. The two-day tournament, consisting of nine teams, is being played at the beautiful Links Hill Golf and Country Club.
Senior Adam Lumley paced the Lions with a two-under 69, while freshman Luke Challis finished the afternoon just behind Lumley with a two-over 73. Junior Dalton Thompson carded a three-over 74, while freshmen Harry Butler and Callum Ritchie scratched a four-over 75.
The Lions, who currently sit in sixth place, trail second place Spartanburg Methodist by only three strokes. Tusculum sits atop the leaderboard after day one, leading by six strokes. Tennessee Wesleyan's Evan Ball and Milligan's Josh Gambrell lead the individual leaderboard after shooting a five-under 66.
The second and final day will resume tomorrow morning at 9 a.m., weather permitting.
