Butler and Lumley Lead Men's Golf to Third Place Finish

LOUDON, TENN. – The Mars Hill men's golf team finished third at the rain-shortened Tennessee River Rumble on Tuesday afternoon. A tournament that was forced to only 18 holes because of excessive amounts of rain in the area saw the Lions turn in an impressive performance during the day's round, firing a combined score of 294 (+6) to finish only six strokes behind host Lincoln Memorial (288, even-par). Carson-Newman shot a 292 (+4) to round out the top-2.
Harry Butler and Adam Lumley led the Lions after shooting even-par 72s, good enough for a tie for 8th-place, while Callum Ritchie finished in a tie for 15th with a +1, 73, his best performance of the season. Luke Challis and Francesc Llinas also had a great day on the links, posting respectable +5, 77s, finishing in a tie for 38th. Tusculum's David Whinery (67, -5) took home the individual crown
