Lions Finish Eighth at SAC Championships
SALISBURY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men’s golf team wrapped up the 2017 South Atlantic Men’s Golf Championships with an 8th place finish on Tuesday afternoon at the Salisbury Country Club.
SALISBURY, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's golf team wrapped up the 2017 South Atlantic Men's Golf Championships with an 8th place finish on Tuesday afternoon at the Salisbury Country Club.
Luke Challis was the top finisher for the Lions, turning in an impressive 12th place finish after firing a second round 32 (-3), while Adam Lumley finished one stroke behind him with a 27-hole total of 110 (+4), good enough for a top-15 finish.
Stephen Thomasson knocked off six strokes from his day one total and collected a 40th place finish after scoring a total of 114 (+8) during the rain-shortened event. Harry Butler and Callum Ritchie each posted 119s (+13) to tie for 54th position.
As a team the Lions shot a 27-hole total of 448 (+24). Carson-Newman took home the team honors with a 431 (+7), while Coker's Wanjoo Lee earned the individual award with two-under 104.
