CONOVER, N.C. - The Mars Hill Lions men's golf team struggled during first-round play of the South/Southeast Super Regional Monday afternoon, finishing the day in last place. Harry Butler ranks as the top Lions' golfer after shooting four over par on the afternoon.
Butler, who turned in a first-round score of 76, leads teammate Hunter Morrison by three strokes. Callum Ritchie shot a +9 and rounding out the Lions' scores were Luke Challis and Garrett Freeman, who are tied for 83rd overall.
The Lions shot +43 overall on the afternoon and trail Tusculum, who sits in 16th overall, by 19 strokes.
