Lions finish 10th at Bank of TR Invitational
Despite an eight-stroke improvement in round two of the Bank of TR Invitational, the Mars Hill men's golf team placed 10th on Tuesday afternoon.
COLUMBIA, S.C. - Despite an eight-stroke improvement in round two of the Bank of TR Invitational, the Mars Hill men's golf team placed 10th on Tuesday afternoon.
Harry Butler slid down the leaderboard six spots from Monday and finished 15th overall, shooting +6 over the tournament. Contrarily, Stephen Thomasson second round 73 moved him up 10 spots to finish 22nd overall.
Nicholas Boone's +10 second round score bumped him down 19 spots to a 43rd place finish. Luke Challis, despite a six-stroke improvement, was unable to move up the board and placed 49th overall. Callum Ritchie's seven-stroke improvement also was not enough to move up, placing 52nd in the tournament.
The Lions shot a combined 620 (+44) over the two days. They trailed ninth place Eckerd College by three strokes, eighth place North Greenville University B-Team by four strokes and seventh place Milligan College by seven strokes.
