Lacrosse Rolls Past Rollins
Farmer scores five times
WINTER PARK, Fla. - No. 7 Mars Hill had little trouble Wednesday afternoon as they defeated Deep South Conference rival Rollins College, 20-4. The Lions improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the DSC. The Tars fell to 0-7 on the season and 0-5 in the league.
The Lions started off slow scoring only three goals to the Tars one in the first quarter. MHC then exploded for seven unanswered goals in the second frame to take a 10-1 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
MHC came out of the locker room after the intermission and added three more unanswered goals to lead 13-1 heading into the fourth stanza. The Lions won the last quarter, 7-3, to make the final tally, 20-4 in favor of the visitors.
Tyler Farmer had a great game for MHC offensively scoring five goals. T.J. Cowx added a goal and a team high five assists in the win while Eric Benesch recorded the same number of goals and four assists. Dylan Price played 48:52 in goal for MHC and made 16 saves. Jesse Mimken played the final 11:08 in goal for the Lions and made one save.
Mars Hill will face Florida Southern on March 19. Game time in Lakeland, Florida, is set for noon.
