Men's Soccer Practice Report #2

MARS HILL, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's soccer team has been hard at work in the first full week of practice but also has the experience of a scrimmage under their belt.
"At practice we're still working on learning to play as a team," said head coach Gary Hamel. "This week we've also focused on finding the balance between getting the guys game fit without exposing them to injury. Overall I'm happy with our progression, especially the new guys as they just to the speed of the college game."
The Lions participated in their first scrimmage last night, giving Hamel a chance to see where his squad is at after a week of practice.
"As a whole, it was good to see what we have in a game situation," said Hamel. "I felt like we responded well to adversity. We need to improve on simple possession and finding feet."
Mars Hill will host Belmont Abbey in a scrimmage on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. The Lions welcome Lander for their final preseason scrimmage on Monday at 5 p.m.
