Second half strikes push Queens past Mars Hill

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's soccer team (4-10-1, 0-8 SAC) was shutout 3-0 versus Queens (8-5, 5-3 SAC) Saturday afternoon in South Atlantic Conference play.
Following a scoreless first half, the Royals netted three goals in the final 45 minutes to come away with the 3-0 win.
Outshooting the Lions 12-0 in the second half, the first goal came in the 56th minute as Caio Brandao put the Royals up 1-0. In the 76th minute, Michael Hornsby doubled the Queens' lead.
Louis Goldsack added an insurance marker for the Royals in the 88th minute.
Jordan Lennon and Joakim Lien recorded shots for Mars Hill on the day while Brennan Whalen made six saves in the loss.
The Lions will host Senior Day on Friday, October 1 when they take on Tusculum. Kickoff is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start inside Meares Stadium.
