Lions sweep Milligan, Warren Wilson, Lees-McRae to end regular season
The Mars Hill men's swim team ended the regular season picking up three wins over Milligan, Warren Wilson, and Lees-McRae Saturday morning.
MILLIGAN, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's swim team ended the regular season picking up three wins over Milligan, Warren Wilson, and Lees-McRae Saturday morning.
Erwin Ortiz and Vitor Goncalves each won two individual races, while Harrison Butler and Elijah Sears also claimed individual wins for Mars Hill. Ortiz won the 200 and 400 meter freestyle races with times of 1:57.06 and 4:17.18, respectively. Goncalves turned in times of 24.79 in the 50 meter freestyle and 54.37 in the 100 yard freestyle races.
Butler claimed the 100 meter backstroke with a time of 1:02.39. Sears swam a time of 1:08.61 in the 100 meter backstroke.
Butler, Goncalves, and Sears, along with Brendon Cyprianos won the 200 meter medley relay race with a time of 1:50.12.
The Lions downed Milligan by a score of 129-40, Warren Wilson by a mark of 135-11, and Lees-McRae by a score of 125-42.

Mars Hill ended the regular season with a 10-1 record.
The Lions swim next in the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Championships, starting on Wednesday, February 6th. The four-day event will conclude on Saturday, February 9th and will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina.
