Lions Set Three School-Records at Wofford
GREENVILLE, S.C.-The Mars Hill men's track and field team set three new school-records at the Wofford Invitational Terrier Relays, held Saturday at Wofford College.
Travis Riner set a new school-record in the Shot Put. Cameron Shaw, Deandre Vines, Isaiah Phyall and Jonathan Spence combined to set a new school-record in the Sprint Medley Relay. The final school-record broken was by the 4 x 800 Relay team, which consisted of freshmen Alex Griggs, Chase Shermer and Cesar Reyes along with senior Eric Blackburn. The Terrier Relays featured performers from NCAA Division I and II schools, as well as NAIA performers.

Riner's school-record throw in the Shot Put was 49'-6.00", which broke his old school-record by eight inches and was good enough for first-place overall in the meet by over a foot. Riner also placed fourth overall and second among Division II athletes in the Discus with a throw of 149'-6.00".
Shaw, Vines, Phyall and Spence broke the old Sprint Medley Relay school-record by three seconds with a time of 3:37.34.
Griggs, Shermer, Reyes and Blackburn broke a seven-year old record in the 4 x 800 Relay by 11 seconds. The team ran a time of 8:06.57 to finish sixth overall.
The 4 x 100 Relay team turned in the top college time at the meet with a time of 42.46 seconds. The team was made up of Shaw, Vines, Kedar Peeples and Isaac Phyall.
The 4 x 200 Relay team also finished with the best college time at the meet. Peeple, Shaw, Vines and Isaiah Phyall combined to run a time of 1:29.04.
Jaymz Fagaragan also set a new personal-record in the Discus with a throw of 99'-4.00". The throw broke his old personal-record by seven feet.
Daniel Jezioranski added an eighth-place finish in the 1500 Meter Run with a time of 4:15.89. The Lions had six runners place in the top 20 of the event.
Mars Hill will compete in the Appalachian State Mountaineer Open, which will be held Friday, Apr. 12.
