Appalachian State Results - Day 2
In day two of the Appalachian State University Invitational, the Lions’ track and field teams did very well.
BOONE, N.C. – In day two of the Appalachian State University Invitational, the Lions' track and field teams did very well.
The men's team had a great performance led by Trevon Gee. He finished in first place in the 55-meter hurdles and hit the provisional qualifying mark for Nationals in the event. Dwayne Boone broke a three year old high jump school record by four inches. MHU also had some great personal records set by Kedar Peeples and Jeremy Crawford in the 55-meter dash.
On the women's side, the Lions had a new school record set by Jessica Viscusi in the 3000-meter run finishing first in the meet over all Division I competition. She broke the old record by 13 seconds and now holds four individual school records and four relay records. The Lions also had a great performance by Toccara Jefferies who set a new personal record in the 55-meter dash. Savannah Hulbert was the fastest 200-Meter runner on the team today and also set a personal record for the 55-meter dash.
Mars Hill is looking forward to the next meet at East Tennessee State University on January 18, and expect a lot of the same results they enjoyed today.
