Lion Relay Teams Set New School Records
The Mars Hill men’s and women’s 4x300 meter relay teams set new school records as part of the Mountaineer Open on Friday and Saturday.
BOONE, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's and women's 4x300 meter relay teams set new school records as part of the Mountaineer Open on Friday and Saturday. The meet was held on the campus of Appalachian State University.
The women's 4X300 meter relay team of Savannah Hulbert, Toccara Jeffries, Dawn Radford and Jessica Viscusi set a new school record with a time of 3:05. The men's 4x300 meter relay team of Deandre Vines, A'Derius Freeman, Trevon Gee and Michael Koch lowered the school record by more than six seconds.
Gee continued his solid season in the 55 Meter Hurdles, finishing in seventh place with a time of 7.94 seconds. Hunter Townsend set personal records in the mile by four seconds and the 3000 Meter Run by 17 seconds, completing the second accomplishment just two hours later.
Hulbert set a new personal record in the Women's 55 Meter Dash with a time of 7.71, topping her previous mark by .2. Jeffries set a new personal best in the 200 Meter Dash, crossing the line with a time of 28.5 seconds.
Mars Hill returns to the track in two weeks at the VMI Relays with several athletes looking to punch their ticket to the NCAA Division II National meet.
