Men's Track in Second Place After Opening Day of SAC Championships
The Mars Hill men’s track team is in second place after the first day of the 2014 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Track Championships. The Lions tallied 45 points on the opening day of competition, trailing first place Wingate by six points with five events completed.
HICKORY, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's track team is in second place after the first day of the 2014 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Track Championships. The Lions tallied 45 points on the opening day of competition, trailing first place Wingate by six points with five events completed.
Alex Griggs won the men's 10,000 meter run with a time of 31:52.89, followed by David Jones in fourth place, Derek Gibson in fifth and Kiel Bollaro in sixth . Travis Riner finished in fourth place in the men's hammer throw. Alex Brandt finishes in fourth place in the men's javelin, with Riner recording a fifth place finish and Jaymz Fagaragan finishing in eighth. Dwayne Boone finished in fourth place in the men's high jump, followed by Isaac Phyall in sixth place.
The meet wraps up tomorrow at the Irwin Belk Track and Mortez Sports-Athletic Complex
