Two Lions Earn All-Region Honors
Two Mars Hill men’s track and field student-athletes earned All-Region honors from the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches’ Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.
NEW ORLEANS - Two Mars Hill men's track and field student-athletes earned All-Region honors from the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) on Monday.
Senior Travis Riner was named All-Region in the Shot Put and Discus. Riner, the 2014 South Atlantic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Year, was the conference champion in both events and set the school record in both events while picking up several victories.
Freshman Dwayne Boone won the Catamount Classic on April 14 with a new school record jump of 6 feet, 3 ¼ inches. Boone finished in fourth place at the Food Lion SAC Track and Field Championships.
Men's All-Region awards went to 646 different student-athletes, who combined for 905 total awards.
