Griggs, Myers Earn Indoor All-Region Honors
Junior Alex Griggs and freshman Jay Myers have been named to the USTFCCA NCAA Division II Indoor All-Region team
NEW ORLEANS – Junior Alex Griggs and freshman Jay Myers have been named to the USTFCCA NCAA Division II Indoor All-Region team, the organization announced earlier this week. Griggs is honored in the 5000 meters while Myers is an All-Region pick in the 60 meter dash.
Griggs set the school record in the 5000 meters at the UCS Invitational in Winston-Salem on February 21, finishing in 14:56.52. He was the third place finisher in that event at the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational on February 7.
Myers has scored a pair of top-ten finishes in the 60 meter dash. At the ETSU Buccaneer Invitational, Myers finished in seventh place out of 95 competitors. During the preliminaries, he broke a 10-year-old school record with a new fast time of 6.84 seconds, which was a provisional NCAA qualifying time. In his most recent outing at the UCS Invite, Myers finished in 10th place.
