School Records Set in 4x400 Meter Relay, 200 Meter Dash at Catamount Classic
The Mars Hill men’s track team set two school records while recording a fourth place finish at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic
CULLOWHEE, N.C.- The Mars Hill men's track team set two school records while recording a fourth place finish at the Beynon Sports Catamount Classic at Western Carolina on Saturday.
The quartet of Marlon Allen, Dontonio Garrison, Marcus Foster and Malachi Young won the 4x400 meter relay with a new school record time of 3:20.77. Jay Myers finished with a new school record in the 200 meter dash, finishing in fifth place with a time of 21.58.
Michael Koch finished with personal bests in the 100 meter dash (11.44) and 200 meter dash (23.31). Trevon Gee recorded a fourth place finish in the 110 meter hurdles (14.97), followed by Foster in fifth place with a personal best time of 15.05. Gil Gilreath finished in second place in the 3,000 meter steeplechase (10:17.52). Alex Griggs scored a seventh place finish in the 1500 meter run (4:07.52), followed by Chase Shermer in eighth (4:08.64).
The Lions will compete at the South Atlantic Conference championship meet on Friday and Saturday at Lenoir-Rhyne.
