Men's Indoor Track Excels at App State
BOONE, N.C. – The Mars Hill men’s track and field team took to the road on Friday, February 19 to compete in the Appalachian Indoor Open Split Track Meet.
BOONE, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's track and field team took to the road on Friday, February 19 to compete in the Appalachian Indoor Open Split Track Meet. The guys were able to have a very successful day as records and personal bests continued to fall.
Kenan Foxx collected a sixth place finish in the weight throw competition, setting a new PR with a distance of 41 feet.
Nathan Jones and James Gilreath turned in solid second and third place finishes, respectively, in the Mile Run, while teammate Alex Griggs finished in sixth.
Griggs and Nick Resor also had fantastic showings in the 3000, finishing in third and fourth, respectively.
Brandon Beard continued his impressive spring, breaking the two minute barrier in the 800 with a time of 1:58. Daniel Lerner was also able to eclipse his old personal best in the 3,000, crossing the line in 9:45.09.
