Men In Fifth After Day One Of SAC Championship
HICKORY, N.C. – The Mars Hill men’s track and field team currently sits in fifth place after day one of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Championship, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University.
HICKORY, N.C. – The Mars Hill men's track and field team currently sits in fifth place after day one of the 2016 South Atlantic Conference Championship, hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University. Distance runners exceled in day one while the sprinters were not too far behind.
Nathan Jones continued his stellar year with a second place finish in the 10,000 meter race, collecting a time of 31:34.39 while teammate Cesar Reyes finished second in the 3000 Steeplechase with a time of 9:59.60.
Justin Gragg garnered a third place finish in the 1500 (4:05.82) and Brandon Beard crossed the line just behind him in fifth (4:06.49).
The team will continue its push to a conference championship as the concluding day begins early on Saturday morning.
