Men's Track Concludes Prelims of ETSU Invitational

JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The Mars Hill men's track team opened the spring portion of its schedule with a great showing in the first day of the ETSU Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State University.
Cameron France was able to tie the school record in the 200 meter race with an impressive time of 22.43, besting upper classmen from Division I schools Appalachian State and Western Carolina. Spencer Shade and Marlon Allen also had stellar performances, each collecting new personal records in their respective events. Allen ran a 51.38 in the 400 meters, while Shade cleared 13' 1" in the pole vault. Brandon Beard rounded out the top performers for the Lions, coming within one-tenth of a second from tying his own school record in the 800 meters (1:58.9).
The Lions will look to improve on the numbers established today, concluding the invitational tomorrow morning.
