Lions Shine During Final Day of Buccaneer Invitational
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The Mars Hill track teams completed the final day of the Buccaneer Invitational on Saturday evening with impressive performances across the board.
JOHNSON CITY, TENN. – The Mars Hill track teams completed the final day of the Buccaneer Invitational on Saturday evening with impressive performances across the board.
On the women's side, Rachel Strickland continues to improve, collecting her fourth consecutive personal-best in the 3000 meter race (11:23). Kaleigh Jackson added a new season-best in the 3000 as well with a stellar time of 11:22.14. Sydney Britt (2:38.06) and Kali Clemmer (2:50.96) were also able to establish new season-bests in the 800 meter race.
For the men, Brandon Beard (4:29) and Noah Allison (4:30) had huge personal-bests in the mile run. Tucker Dandenault (9:45.14), Skyler Cantrell (9:50.69), and Bryan Barbee (9:54.14) set new career-bests in the 3000 meters. Spencer Shade cleared 13' 6" during the pole vault event, tying his own personal record.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday, February 17 as they travel to Boone, N.C. to participate in the Mountaineer Invitational hosted by Appalachian State.
