New Personal Records Set At App State Split Meet

On the women's side Shahnika Williams collected a first place finish in the 55m dash with a personal record time of 7.43 seconds. Rachel Strickland joined Williams, setting a new career-best in the mile with a great time of 5:47, while Sydney Britt contributed a new season-tops 2:36 in the 800m.
As for the men Spencer Shade continued his impressive start to the season with a new PR in the vault, clearing a jump of 4.15m. Nathan Jones tallied first in the 3,000m race with a time of 9:05, while teammate Brandon Beard crossed the line just behind him in second at 9:10.
Noah Allison finished second in the mile race, completing the event in 4:33. Cameron France impressed in the sprint events with a new personal best of 6.75 in the 55m dash, finishing just behind Marlon Allen, who turned in a fast 6.71. Markeece Cunningham displayed his strength in the shot put with a throw of 12.93m, easily breaking his old best by more than three feet.
Both teams will return to action on Saturday, March 4, traveling to Salem, Va. to compete in the Roanoke College Jumps/Throws Meet.
