Mars Hill starts season strong at JDL Fast Track
The Mars Hill men's track & field team opened up their 2017-18 campaign with impressive individual performances in several areas.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Mars Hill men's track & field team opened up their 2017-18 campaign with impressive individual performances in several areas.
Nicholas Izquierdo finished first on the team in the 60m dash with a time of 7.20. He also finished 2nd overall in the 200m with a time of 23.08.
Spencer Shade had a great vault day with a jump of 13 feet 5 inches. Malik Frost posted solid times in the 60m Dash running 7.24 and also in the 200m with a time of 23.47.
Bryan Barbee was just a few seconds off his personal record with a time of 10:00 in the 3,000m. The Men's 4X4 team of Nicholas Izquierdo, Malik Frost, Cameron France and Spencer Shade came home with a first place finish.
"I could not be more proud of the effort put in by all the athletes today," assistant coach Brad Nagel said. "With only a few weeks of training this year, we are off to an incredible start."
