Lions race at Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational
The Mars Hill men's track and field team participated in the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational this past weekend.
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - The Mars Hill men's track and field team participated in the Buccaneer Track and Field Invitational this past weekend.
Freshman Hunter Snyder ran a personal best of 10:36.61 in the 3000 meter. Blake Freeman ran a season best 10:01.96 in the same race. Alan Mota, competing in his first college meet, had a strong showing with a time of 10:58.90 in the 3000 meter race.
In the mile, Jared Stanley and Justin Race both had personal bests while senior Bryan Barbee ran a season best time of 4:55.30.
Ty Claud advanced to the semi-finals in the 60m hurdles, running a season best 8.86 seconds. Rodney Dejournett ran a season best 7.37 seconds in the 60m dash. Freshman Malik Gibson ran a strong 60m dash with a time of 7.41 seconds while Austin Prince ran a personal best time of 7.65 seconds in the same race.
Tyler Holloway reached the finals in shot put, placing 10th with a personal best throw of 13.84m (45'4''). Ben Goodlett continued his hot streak of setting new personal bests with a throw of 12.15m in shot put. This marks the 11th meet in which Goodlett has set a new personal standard.
