Men’s Cross Country fourth in Southeast Region
NEW ORLEANS, La. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released week six regional rankings for the NCAA Division II 2011 season. Mars Hill is ranked fourth in the Southeast Region, climbing one spot from last week.
Queens, King, and Mount Olive top the regional standings. Anderson (S.C.), Augusta State, UNC-Pembroke, Wingate, Clayton State and Lenoir-Rhyne round out the top 10.
Mars Hill captured the Food Lion SAC Men's Cross Country Championship for the 15th-consecutive season last Saturday. The Lions won the 2011 title behind three top-10 individual performances and were led by individual champion and SAC Runner of the Year Justin Gragg. The Lions have reached the national championship meet during the last two seasons.
Mars Hill will race on Saturday, Nov. 5, in the Southeast Regional Championship meet in Charlotte N.C. The race begins at 9:30 a.m.
