Lions Place Second at Hyder-McMahill Invite
MONTREAT, N.C.-- The Mars Hill men's cross country team placed second overall, first among Division II teams at the Hyder-McMahill Collegiate Invite Saturday morning.
The Lions top finisher was freshman Jonathan Spense, who ran a time of 29:32 to place 21st overall. Freshman Chase Shermer finished in the same time to finish 22nd overall. Freshman Sean Rapp finished in a time of 29:41 to finish 24th overall. Landon Minton rounded out the top 25 performers for the Lions, finishing 24th with a time of 29:54.
Rounding out the Lions performers were Ryan Thedford, who finished 32nd with a time of 30:33, and freshman Nathan Wheeler with a time of 30:35, 35th overall.
Mars Hill will compete at the Greensboro Invitational in Greensboro, N.C. on Sept. 22 at 10 a.m.
