CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Mars Hill's Brady Adcock won the Lookout Mountain 50-Miler race on December 13. He placed first out of a capped off number of 400 runners.
Adcock beat many semi-professional and professional runners from not only across the United States but from all over the world. Adcock finished ahead of an Ultra Marathon State Champion from Georgia and ran the third fastest course time in history.
The race conditions were very muddy with temperatures ranging from highs in the upper 40's and lows around 30 degrees that also produced freezing rain at times. Despite the conditions all technical trails were open including the two summits of Lookout Mountain.
Adcock finished in a seven hours, 19 minutes and 31 seconds (7:19:31). To view the full race results click here…
After the win, Adcock stated, "By far this was the craziest race I've ever had the opportunity to experience. I started training immediately after the NCAA cross country regional running over 100 miles per week. Much of my training was on the Appalachian Trail and other local single track trails."
