Mars Hill Men's Cross Country Competes at Furman XC Classic
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Lions men’s cross country team finished seventh out of 23 teams in the at the Furman XC Classic on Saturday, September 10.
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Lions men's cross country team finished seventh out of 23 teams at the Furman XC Classic on Saturday, September 10. Overall, the team was the first out of all South Atlantic Conference participants and Nathan Jones was the first SAC runner to cross the line during the 8k race.
Jones continued his stellar performances, this time capturing an 11th place finish with a time of 25:22.25.
Sophomore Noah Allison had a very impressive run on the afternoon, shaving more than two minutes off his time a year ago, en route to a new personal best (26:28.83). Junior Brandon Beard was also able to contribute a new individual-best (26:44.96).
Garrett Farrimond placed 31st with a mark of 26:17.47, while James Gilreath completed the course in 42nd position (26:33.80), just behind Allsion.
The team will be back in action one week from today as they compete in the Montevallo Pre-Region Meet. The race is set to begin at 8 a.m.
