Mars Hill takes 1st at Cougar Invitational
The Mars Hill Lions' men's cross country team took first place at the 14th Annual Columbus State Cougar Invitational. Three Lions' runners placed in the top five.
COLUMBUS, Ga. - The Mars Hill Lions' men's cross country team took first place at the 14th Annual Columbus State Cougar Invitational. Three Lions' runners placed in the top five.
Brandon Beard came away with the individual victory and ran a personal best 25:27.50. He was followed by Nick Resor who turned in a time of 26:18.80, also a personal best.
Noah Allison finished in fourth place. Other notable runners for the Lions were seniors James Gilreath, Garrett Farrimond and freshman Jared Stanley, who finished 14-16th, respectively.
The Lions collectively ran 2:12:52.48 with an average of 26:34.50 run by each athlete. They topped host Columbus State, who is ranked no. six in the Southeast Region.

Mars Hill will look to continue their strong runs at the upcoming Queens Royal Invitational on Friday, September 29. The race is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
