Young voted to Academic All-District III first team
Young now eligible for All-America consideration
MARS HILL, N.C. - Brittini Young has been named to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District Women's Basketball District III College Division first team. She makes the team for a second consecutive season after being chosen as a second team selection in 2010.
Young sports a 3.77 GPA in Business administration. First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the national Capital One Academic All-America® Team ballot, where First, Second and Third Team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
On the court, Young ranks second in the South Atlantic Conference in assists with 4.06 per game and fourth in scoring at 17.9 points per game.
The 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-District ®Women's Basketball Teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, have been released to recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performance on the floor and in the classroom. The Academic All-District ® teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The University Division team includes NCAA Division I participants, while the College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
