Williams Inducted to Baldwin-Wallace Hall of Fame
MARS HILL, N.C. - Head women's basketball coach Jennifer Williams will be inducted to Baldwin-Wallace College's Athletic Hall of Fame in October. Williams was named a first team All-American during her playing career.
During her career her team won the Ohio Athletic Conference regular season title for three straight years and won their conference tournament championship three times (1998-99, 1999-00, & 2000-01). The Yellow Jackets went to the elite 8 in 2000 and 2001 during Williams junior and senior seasons and her class has most wins in any class in school history with a impressive 108-13 four -year record.
Williams was a two-year starter and team Captain in 2001. She was selected a first team All-American after her senior campaign. Only 10 players are named first team nationally with over 400 basketball programs in the mix for that award. She was a first team All-Ohio Athletic Conference selection her junior and senior year and still holds several school records. Those marks include: most points scored in a season (495); most free throws attempted season (179); most free throws made season (146); no. 1 and no. 6 rank in single season scoring leaders; led OAC in field goal percentage her junior year and tied for the OAC and Baldwin-Wallace record for free throw percentage in a single game (10-for-10).
Williams has served as head women's basketball coach at Mars Hill for six years and as the school's Senior Woman Administrator for the last three years.
