The Play 4Kay initiative allows coaches and student-athletes to come together with their local community to raise awareness for breast cancer research on the court and in their communities. Play 4Kay is named after legendary women's basketball coach Kay Yow, who passed away in 2009 after a 22-year battle with breast cancer.
Proceeds directly support women's breast cancer research through the Kay Yow Cancer Fund (KYCF). Since its inception, the Play 4Kay program has raised over $2.6 million to support women's cancer research.
The Kay Yow Cancer Fund is a 501 (c)(3) charitable organization committed to being a part of finding an answer in the fight against women's cancers through raising money for scientific research, assisting the underserved and unifying people for a common cause.
