Wilmoth Named to Academic All-District Team
Cadence Wilmoth has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District III women’s basketball first team
AUSTIN, TEXAS- Mars Hill junior forward Cadence Wilmoth has been named to the 2015 Capital One Academic All-District III women's basketball first team (NCAA Division II), selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
The Glade Spring, Va. native is averaging 9.0 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game. She currently is fifth in the South Atlantic Conference in free throw percentage, shooting 85.9 percent. Wilmoth ranks seventh in the league in blocks (20), eighth in offensive rebounds (52) and free throws (67-78) and is tenth in total rebounds (129) and rebounds per game (6.4).
In 20 games for the Lions this season, Wilmoth has recorded a double-double in two games, including a career-high 24 points with 11 rebounds in an 82-68 victory over Catawba on November 22.
Wilmoth holds a 3.94 GPA while majoring in History.
Wilmoth, along with the rest of the District III first team, moves on to the national ballot where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
