Glymph Earns NCCSIA First Team Honors
Camille Glymph has been named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State College Division First Team
HIGH POINT, N.C. - Mars Hill senior Camille Glymph has been named to the North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State College Division First Team, the organization announced on Tuesday.
Glymph adds this latest honor to a season where she earned All-South Atlantic Conference first team and DAKTRONICS All-Region First team honors.
Glymph led the league with an average of 23.8 points per game, which was the second-highest mark among all NCAA Division II players. She played a league-high 951 minutes and also led the SAC in field goals (226-536), 3-pointers (97-252) and free throw percentage (88.2 percent). Her 646 points scored led the league and is the sixth-highest single-season output in conference history.
In her lone season at Mars Hill, Glymph etched her name into the record books as she set a new school record and tied the all-time South Atlantic Conference record for points in a game with 45, which came in an 88-42 victory over Brevard on February 26.
Mars Hill finished with an 11-17 record and qualified for the South Atlantic Conference tournament.
Other first team selections were McKenzie Owen of Belmont Abbey, Chantel Dunbar of Wingate, Jazmine Charles of Lenoir-Rhyne and Katie Williams of Brevard. The second team consists of Quantashea Lewis of Salem College, Greensboro College's Shanita Hampton and Tiffani Stephens, Anais Weatherly of Guilford College and Jessi Hayes of Meredith College.
Nominees were submitted by North Carolina sports information professionals and voted on by the NCCSIA members
Founded in 2002, The North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) is comprised of sports information professionals from NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA and independent institutions from the state of North Carolina. The purpose of the organization is to promote collegiate athletics at all schools. Membership is open to anyone affiliated with a college, university or conference located in North Carolina, and whose area of responsibility lies within sports information.
