Boggs drops 21 on road versus Lincoln Memorial

HARROGATE, Tenn. - The Mars Hill women's basketball team (2-13, 0-9 SAC) was defeated on the road by Lincoln Memorial (6-7, 5-4 SAC) by a score of 76-47.
The Railsplitters, with the game tied at four early in the first quarter, went on an 8-2 run to double up the Lions with less than four minutes to play in the opening stanza. Closing out the first up on 19-8, Lincoln Memorial's offensive outburst continued in the second, opening on an 8-0 run.
Following a three-pointer from Hannah McIntosh, another 12-0 Railsplitters' run put the Lions behind 39-11 with less than two minutes to play in the half. Lindsay Proffitt led all players with 12 points in the half, hitting four three-pointers.
The third quarter saw the Railsplitters' defense once again keep the Lions in single digits, doubling up Mars Hill 15-7, heading into the final quarter of play up 61-22.
In the final quarter of play, the Lions offense came alive, shooting over 62 percent from the floor and outscoring Lincoln Memorial, 25-15. Tatum Boggs netted 14 of her game-high 21 points in the final 10 minutes. Proffitt led the Railsplitters with 20 points followed by Sydney Newsome's 12 on the night.
Mars Hill returns to action on Saturday, January 18 when they face Queens on the road. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
