SUNSET BEACH, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team is in 17th place after the first day of the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. The team of four players shot a combined 422.
Diedre Biehn (Haddonfield, N.J.) leads the Lions with a 97 after 18 holes. Taylor Banks (Burnsville, N.C.) is second on the team with a score of 102.
Tonya Gruel-Wright (Marysville, Ohio) has a 105 after the first day of competition. Jessica Martin (Reidsville, N.C.) shot a 118 through the first round.
The final round of the tournament takes place on Tuesday.
