Lions Fall to Milligan in Border Battle
ASHEVILLE, N.C.-- Mars Hill's women's golf team fell to Milligan in the Border Battle, which was held Thursday afternoon at Asheville Municipal Golf Club.
ASHEVILLE, N.C.-- Mars Hill's women's golf team fell to Milligan in the Border Battle, which was held Thursday afternoon at Asheville Municipal Golf Club.
The top four scores from each team were used to determine the final. Milligan's "Orange" group golfers combined to card a score of 323. Mars Hill's golfers came in with a score of 337. Milligan's "Black Group" finished with a score of 348. Jacqueline McCormick carded Mars Hill's best score of the day with an 82.

Cassidy Gibson and Kaitlyn Harville paced the Buffaloes' "Orange" group, each with a day-best 80. Ann Sullivan and Madison Smith rounded out the point-earners for Milligan.
MHU freshman Katherine Lail notched an 83 in her first collegiate match.Victoria Barrett turned in one of four sub-40 scores over the first nine holes, shooting a 39. Freshman Jordie Sowell rounded out the Lions' top four in her first match as a Lion.
Lindsey Ball and Sarah Johnson rounded out Mars Hill's performers.
The Lions will head to the Anderson University Fall Invite next. Qualifying rounds begin Sunday, Sep. 8 with play concluding Tuesday, Sep. 10.
