Johnson, Women's Golf in Fifth Place Tie at Tusculum Fall Classic
Junior Sarah Johnson shot a career-best three-over-par 75 to lead the Mars Hill women’s golf team to a tie for fifth place in the opening round of the Tusculum Fall Classic.
GREENEVILLE, TENN.- Junior Sarah Johnson shot a career-best three-over-par 75 to lead the Mars Hill women's golf team to a tie for fifth place in the opening round of the Tusculum Fall Classic at Link Hills Golf Club.
Johnson is in a five player tie for fifth place, five shots behind lead Ashlii Thompson of UNC Pembroke. Freshman Emma Lundvall finished two shots behind Johnson with a 77 and is in a tie for 16th place. Victoria Barrett finished with a seven-over-par 79 and is part of a six player tie for 24th. Raven Brown fired an opening round 85, with Lindsey Ball finishing with a 91.
The Lions are tied with Catawba and West Alabama for fifth place and trail fourth place Tusculum by eight strokes. UNC Pembroke leads the tournament with an opening round 297, seven strokes ahead of second place Lincoln Memorial.
The Tusuclum Fall Classic will wrap up on Tuesday.
