Lions Head to SAC Championship on Sunday
Mars Hill will participate in the SAC Championships Sunday-Tuesday
MARS HILL, N.C. - The Mars Hill women's golf team will look for a strong finish to the 2014-15 season as the Lions compete at the South Atlantic Conference championship beginning on Sunday. The tournament returns to the Sevierville Golf Club for the third straight year, with this year's tournament taking place on the 6,006-yard, par-72 River Course.
The Lions are led by Sarah Johnson and her 83.0 average. Johnson has had the low round in each of Mars Hill's four tournaments this spring. Johnson has been consistent this season as all but one of her 36-hole scores has ranged between 156 and 164.
Freshman Emma Lundvall enters the conference tournament with an 83.94 scoring average. Lundvall finished in a tie for second at the Pioneer Classic on November 2nd and her 73 in the second round of the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate is the low round for the team this year.
Mars Hill finished a season-best fourth place at the Pioneer Classic on November 2nd. The Lions finished with their lowest team score of 316 in the first round of the Tusculum Fall Classic on September 29.
