SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Mars Hill sophomore Emma Lundvall is the overall leader following the opening round of the Converse Fall Invite held at the par-72, 5807-yard Carolina Country Club.
Battling rainy conditions, Lundvall was the only player to finish above 80 as she shot a 79 in her opening round for a one stroke lead over Converse's Marley Felthousen. Victoria Barrett is in third place overall after she shot an 83. Sarah Johnson is tied for 14th following an opening round 90. Raven Brown finished with a 98 followed by Marie Syvertsen with a 99.
The Lions are in third place on the team leaderboard with a team score of 350. Converse leads the tournament thanks to a 335. Converse B is in second place with a 346.
The final round is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 9 a.m.
